I also prioritize spending time with my extended relatives when I can, which unfortunately is mostly holidays and special occasions these days, but that time always means so much to me. I love both sides of my family so dearly. But sharing our life and growing together also means balancing family time while setting boundaries with those who try to make demands of Jon and I's time or guilt-trip us about how we choose to spend our life, especially those who only take and never give.

I've struggled with healing from those who have intentionally hurt us. Forgiveness is challenging, even though I preach it and will continue to. Sometimes, the wounds are too deep, and it's okay to acknowledge that. Self-care practices like therapy, journaling, and self-reflection have helped me work through my emotions and process my experiences. We're also not afraid to cut toxic people out of our life and set boundaries to protect ourselves.
